compaq laptop or acer laptop
Since you had not mentioned any other brands only those two. I would go with Acer working in IT since '99 and last years are all in a NOC. I would go with other brands because its a laptop no interest in building one if this was a desktop I would build it myself. Some things to consider before buying a laptop Are you going travel if yes is it good areas to travel and the maens of travel by auto or by plane. Then you might want to stick to low end laptops so you are less of a target and accidental damage as well. Then consider that the lifespan of a laptop is now 4 to 5 years with nearly any brand. Look at your long term usage too if you are some what into games or using MS Office then you will want to have at least 2GBs or RAM and a nice graphic card so there is less lag in running applications. Above all else you are the one buying so you should be happy with it. Spend more but have less headaches less down time versus I got a windows cheap laptop but have no idea how to fix it and I got to pay for tech support and ask friends go online ask for help again and again.
Acer is cheaper, but Compaq is better. Usually has better hardware, and a far better customer support. If you are asking, because you want to buy a laptop, I would suggest Compaq.
Gateway is the lesser 'version' of Acer. (not the other way around) Compaq is the lesser 'version' of HP Anyway, both laptop brands are ok. (Acer should be better) If i was you, i would rather consider the specs than the brands.
Id go with acer compaq's losing there touch a think . Couple of the mates have compaq and a couple got acer. Acer definatelt the best more everything for a nice price
