You don't have a case because they figured out to send you home first and then later fire you. They will always say that you no feeling well was not why they fired you. Probable they already wrote it down on their computer.

It might have reset or something, that's all I can think of, unless it runs on batteries and just needs a refill! If it were really going off, it would have made a much more obnoxious noise, I know mine does.
What would the basis for your lawsuit be? You can be fired at any time for no reason at all. They could fire you and simply say that your services were no longer necessary. Here, you were given a specific task to do. You refused to do it. You were properly fired. You don't have the right to be employed there.
