Why Air Intake has oil?

HII just bought a 2003 chevy cavalier 2.2 ls sport and notice that the air intake tube has some oilin it, whats going on:(

Cleveland 08/22/11 An oily BATH is better,.!! This be the reason it is a Bath,?! Oh,it could be water,like in the radiator,.That water runs around in the engine,.Kind of odd eh,.? Bbbuutt,.not really,!? Water evaporates,.The radiator be a sealed tight while the air bath circulates air and,.the small amount of water in the bath would evaporate,.get pulled through the filter and into the cumbustion,WHATEVER,Oil will remain,.So the use of oil,be logical,Eh,.? the ecotec does not have a pcv valve!!! the orifice in head is clogged,have to pull intake off and un-clog restriction
The PCV valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) might be defective or clogged open allowing oil under excess pressure from the oil pan into the intake manifold and air intake. The PVC system is designed to draw excess fuel vapors from the oil pan which gets by the rings.via the valve cover area into the intake to be burned in the combustion cycle. Worn piston rings can also cause excessive pressure in the oil pan.overcoming the pressure in the intake tract. Check or replace the PVC valve and have a compression test done to see if the rings are worn. Mileage of the vehicle?
