Question:

Why are companies so prejudice about hiring a female Crane Operator?

I have companies that will call around begging for a crane operator to my male buddiesWhen they suggest me, they tell them oh, okayThis company I work for alot said they got alot of calls everytime they sent me to a plantThey were saying, quot; What's up you sent me a woman?quot; But this company always told them quot;Give her a chance, she's an excellent operatorquot; And they told me they always go excellent reviews back on meBut must about 85% of the companies will not hire a woman crane operatorI have had companies go from leary about putting me on a job, to requesting meBut because I am a woman alot of jobs won't send me out or hire me.To be honest alot of men tell me I am the only woman crane operator they have ever seenWhy do they still do this in this day and age.? It is so unfair and hurtful.

Answer:

yes, just don't use all of filling.
but I thoughtSee that is the thing about prejudiced that people don't getIt doesn't matter if you are qualified are not, it knows no bounds and it already as a mind set and a opinion that is hard to changeTake my mother for example(she is white so you should be able to relate) She went for the job of an electrician as a civilian working for the governmentShe had to fight to just get that job and then she had to fight to get respect and promotionsIt was hard being the first, but she never gave in and never quit even though she would come home cryingAfter they realized how great of a job she was doing they hired another women electricianEvery one has told her since that she was going to make or break it for other women, but that of coarse would have remained inside knowledgeYou have to keep trucking and know that when you are in a field that not too many women opt for, you have a twice as hard of a battleIt is worth it in the end, for the future of other women who might want to do as you doGood luck and blessingsKeep your head up
