Question:

why are quartz hexagonal?

i got assigned this as a geometry project and i can't even figure out the bas: why are quartz hexagonal? it would be great if you could help me

Answer:

quartz sand is just average sand - like the kind used to make sandpaper or that you might find on the beach. it's used for polishing things, etc. Celite is diatomaceous earth, which is a naturally occuring soft, chalklike sedimentary rock. It's actually made from the fossilized remains of diatoms, which are a hard-shelled algae. Celite is used to filter things in order to remove particulate, and it's also used in insecticides, cat litters, liquid adsorbents, and even dynamite!
