Question:

Why Are They're People On Stage When Bands Preform Live?

Like I just watch videos of bands preforming live like at a concert or tour and there are like people behind them or on the sides of the stage? Who are they? Just curious. I mean, if they're friends or family why wouldn't they be in the crowd? Like in a special section or something?

Answer:

Most of the time they are sound guys or security guys to kick anyone off the stage that's not supposed to be up there.
Security / Sound techs. There is a lot that happens backstage. Could also be the other bands just hangin out. It's not uncommon.
A lot of the time it is friends or family (or even members of other bands playing at that venue) this works out well for the family and friends because then they don't have to worry about crowd surfers being dropped on them, or people just acting crazy (and possibly causing them harm) when it is members of other bands this protects them from crazy fans, or causing a comotion whilst the other band is playing. Sometimes it is also security guards preventing anyone from running from the side of the stage and tackling, hurting, etc. the band members. Also at certain concerts they do have a VIP area that is usually a raised platform in the crowd that family members/close friends can go to, but, sometimes if there are a lot of family members some will stand at the side of the stage, others will be at the VIP area.
