why is cement still very high when everything is going down?
it's so easy to blame everything on corruption here. while i have no idea why the biggest cement companies here are actually multinational corporations from Mexico, France, and Switzerland... they must have an unlimited supply of cement that shipping it to places like Iloilo or Bacnotan isn't a factor. they can manipulate the price of cement all they want. i think it's one of those instances where free trade isn't fair. if anything, it could be good-old utang na loob that our government has for these cement companies who have helped provide for the development of everything here that needs cement.
Because the cement cartel is a member of the Phil governing bodies .
If the government is inutile in breaking up the cement cartel in the country, a cartel controlled by two large global cement consolidators such as Cemex and Holderbank, two Filipino veteran businessmen have put up their own companies in the hope to break the said cartel. With the government's inaction to support local cement manufacturers, it goes to show that it favors foreign investors/investments more than its local businesses. Why? Isn't it one of the governments agenda to encourage foreign investors into the country?
the word cartel is not only limited to the cement industry. controlling any business operations/industry in the Phils is way too common. how's this; illegal drugs either supply, distribution and production gambling any forms rice sugar coconut hiring of overseas workers the so called smoke belching testing the so called drug testing for driver's license application you name it the Phils have it. group of people have master the art of controlling businesses apparently these cartels are HUGE fund supporters for any politicians seeking public office. Now how will this end? don't know! God save the Phils! G'Day
It's all about C's : Cartel, Corruption, Conspiracy
