Question:

why do cops turn on the car alarm when they wanted to capture a suspect?

why do cop‘s turns on the car alarm when they wanted to capture a suspect,, even on the times when they don‘t want the suspect to know they are coming to get him/ is this a stupid act or what?

Answer:

FIrst off, police cars have sirens, they aren't car alarms. Second, there are calls that require us to use lights and sirens, and there are calls that require a quick response(no lights and sirens).
The sensitivity is set way too high or you have a faulty sensor that is setting it off all the time. Have it checked out or risk having an angry neighbor call the police on you or smash your car.
What makes no sense is how this question reads!. Cops don't have car alarms they have sirens! If an officer is in pursuit they are required by state laws to have their lights and sirens engaged because some lawyer decided to file a lawsuit when his client didn't see the fire engine coming. As such, all emergency public safety vehicles on emergencies are required to have the siren turned on!
First: I have responded to calls silently. Second: It's a siren, not a car alarm. Third: If we have the siren and lights on, it's for the safety of the public. That way they will see us coming and know to get out of the way. Lastly: Stay in school so that eventually you'll be able to form a complete and coherent sentence and/or thought.
thats no problem its when the alarm goes on and makes a noise thats the problem!!!!
