Yes, things cost more in New York, but it is MUCH easier to get a good job in NY and they also pay you moreMy neighbor makes around $70,000 annually and he bought a nice house in Florida for when he retires in a couple of yearsHe's been looking for a job in Florida and he can't find one that will pay more than $10 an hourIt's ridiculousAnd my friend, who also lives in Florida, is only making $20,000Here in NYC, you can easily get a job within the $30,000 - 40,000 range if you have limited working experienceIf you have good experience, you can easily land a job with six figures, or close to itThat's not that case when you live elsewhere. So, why do people look at New York as an expensive city that's not affordable to live in? With the higher salary and the fact that it's much easier to get a job, doesn't it sort of balance out??

My opinion is that people do not know the rate in payI am in college, make $14 h/r as a manager and share a relatively nice apartment on the Upper East sideI have a friend in Florida who makes about $11.50, has his own car and own apartment and is also in collegeThe main difference to me is that people who have never tried to get a job in the city assume that they will be making the same amount of money that they make in another stateAs well, our taxes are much higher making things such as the common cellphone bill higherAnd from what I have noticed in my year of being a real estate agent on the side, out of towners generally look at more expensive apartments that are out of their price range because they want amenities that are not indigenous to NYC (ie dishwashers, air conditioning, elevator buildings, parking etc) I grew up in NYC and actually find it quite cheapI can go to a pathmark vs whole foods, the cheap home-good stores that have everything from detergent, hammers, laundry bags and microwaves, go to Two Brothers pizza and get two slices and a drink for 2.50 and instead of eating out every night (which is seems most transplants seem to do) cook a meal on Monday and make it lastI think most people that move here want the ideal NYC lifestyle (doorman building in Manhattan - when Brooklyn or LIC is cheaper and right across the water (no one cares where you live, I know I don't), they want to take cabs everywhere and eat out every nightYou can't do that right out of college making $40,000, especially if you want your own one bedroom below 86th street, with outdoor space, a dishwasher, laundry and elevator and near a train (one of my clients) for under $1400 a monthThat is why people think NYC is expensive.
I advocate consuming moderately extra each and every mealThis will hold you on a healthful vitaminAnother procedure is to consume whatever candy like chocolate or possibly a few ice cream or yogurt(Make certain it is not sugar unfastened despite the fact that)The sugar will hold your weight consistentJust do not consume an excessive amount ofHope this is helping!
mypyramidtracker if you go there it'll tell you what you need to put more or less ofYou input what you ate and your height and weight and what not(Put in your weight as maybe 15 lbs less than you are, that way your not getting a diet for someone who needs to lose as much weight) Sounds like not enough dairy, no fruitProbably you could lose weight on that, but sounds like a pretty boring diet that would b hard to stick toThrow in some cottage cheese mixed with lowfat yogurtCelery dipped in peanutbutterSo long as its not a lot of pb lol :) good luck
