why do we find the word "QUARTZ" in watch?what, why, how about QUARTZ?

Answer:

SiO2 molecules bond together into three dimensional hexagonal crystalline structures. This bonding is similar to how carbon bonds with carbon to create molecules of benzene. Both silicon and carbon have a tetrahedral arrangement of bonds around the nucleus of the carbon and silicon atom. An hexagonal arrangement of atoms or molecules takes less bonding energy to maintain, so energy is conserved when atoms or molelcules are arranged in hexagons. You probably can find a website that has a picture of the stoichiometry (how the atoms are arranged) in a quartz crystal. I hope this helps some. Please e-mail me if you need more help.
The internal atomic structure is hexagonal and is reflected in the overall shape of the crystal, the same goes for table salt, it's atomic structure is cubic and if you look at salt under a low powered microscope you will see that it is a bunch of little cubes.
