Why do wool blankets need to be dry cleaned?

Actually they do not need to be dry cleanedBut they must be washed carefully using a wool cycle on a washing machine with an approved wool detergent or soapIt is best not to use very hot water, warm is OKIf you would wash a baby in the water temperature, it is good for woolDo not use a drier, they must be dried flat or hung over a clothes line Since many people find it difficult to dry them correctly, they are usually dry cleaned and this is usually much more convenient Use the same process for any wool item, otherwise the fibres felt together and the item will shrink.
