Question:

Why does my CO detector keep alarming?

Since last night, my CO detector has been alarming. It is a plug in model (no batteries) that has been in my home for 2 years without making a peep up until now. Everything is electric, except my heat. Which has not been on since March. I feel fine, my dog seems to be OK. I would call the Fire Dept. but I dont want to make a big scene in my quiet neighborhood. I do smoke, but have so for as long as the detector has been in my home with no prior alarms. Doesn't there have to be some kind of combustion or partial combustion for CO to be present?

Answer:

Dont break it but turn is over and hit it with something hard.
Ultimately it's your decision to make. Either continue to watch this happen to those animals and do nothing or get involved. Can you contact the SPCA and inquire whether or not you can remain anonymous? That might be an option. They have been tipped off and can do the investigation. I'm sure they will want your name for the record just in case this happens to be a false report. You can understand, hopefully, where they would be coming from in that. It shouldn't be possible for someone to call and falsely report animal abuse without leaving their name. That would be nothing more than a crank call and sending SPCA on a wild goose chase and wasting their time and resources. If this person continues to conduct herself in this way, you can be most assured that she will never have a business. Word of this sort of behavior gets around.
78 lbs is not that much 4 a guy as long as hes not like a twig i can carry like 120
Unplug from mains . Remove top cover and if the loading mechanism is visible which it usually is on modern sets , you can wind the cass out manually by turning the gear wheels !! Do not touch the head drum though as it is easy to break the heads . If the tape has wrapped around the pinch ( rubber roller ) you will have to sacrifice the tape and cut it, Once you have the tape out do not put another one in or it will also get stuck. Cheers Pete
