why don't fast food restaurants have automatic doors?
I agree with first answer.
So they can make fat and lazy people work for their food!

Good question. They'd be a lot faster if I'm not deciding if the person inside is going to let me in first at the door or if they're going to let themselves out first. ARGH.
Some do, but it's really a matter of cost. Those doors are expensive to buy, install and maintain. Some store owners can't or won't spend the money on them.
