why is it sometimes I can preform and sometimes I can not?

I average about 1 1/2 pull ups. My goal is to be able to do 3 solid pull ups. One day I did 2 1/2 pull ups. Why am I stuck? I life 3 or4 times a weak. How long will it take me to improve??

Answer:

You need to work on this daily and multiple times a day. Prior to every meal do one pull up for a week. The following week do two pull ups and so forth. Using this method at OCS, we were all doing 14 pull ups three times a day by the end of the course. That includes the women in our course.
The differences in your performance could be related to sleep, diet, or even just mental state. Just keep working out and doing arm/chest exercises. It shouldn't take too long for you to be able to do 3 pull ups. I went from being able to do 3 or 4 to being able to do 10 or 12 with a little over a month of training, and I'm still improving. 3 pull ups is not that many. You should set your goals a little bit higher. My goal is 25 pull ups.
