Question:

Why is the Alabama vs. Auburn game called the Iron Bowl?

Its only a few hours until the actual game and i was wondering why it the game is called the iron bowl

Answer:

metal: works faster. you get to choose colors. ceramic: get new pair of brackets every tightment it can get stained. my friend has ceramic braces and when i saw them they only look like retainers. but u could totally see the brackets!
thank you teddy bear jr I didn't know that either.
because birmingham had a steel foundry
For many years the game was played in Birmingham,Alabama Birmingham is known for it's foundry's and steel making ability's. Their is a great big stature of Vulcan on a high point going into the city. The stature itself is made of Iron. Vulcan is the mystical god of fire. You need fire and Iron ore to make steel. Iron works were prevalent there. The name Iron Bowl was created because of that. Traditionally the name has been kept and I think rightly so.
well my dads a dentist and im also getting braces and he reccommended metal ones because they work faster but cermaic ones are more attractive so it depends on how long you want to wait for straight teeth.
