Question:

Why is the throttling flowmeter installed with a certain straight pipe section before and after the installation?

Why is the throttling flowmeter installed with a certain straight pipe section before and after the installation?

Answer:

The orifice flowmeter produces a long eddy at the back of the orifice, which causes high amplitude, low frequency orifice signals that interfere with the flow meter readings.
All instruments have the requirements of straight pipe section, some require long, some require short, long straight pipe section, the fluid is relatively stable, to avoid some interference.
Differential pressure detection generally has "signal fluctuation", even in the case of stable flow, the signal produced by the primary component will also fluctuate due to interference.
