Because WE'RE NOT FREE-LOADERS! Working 13 hours a day, is not being a free-loader, so yeah, people take it personally when people are saying they have it easy when they barley have enough time in the day to go to the bathroom!
Let me give you a little example. My dad worked for nearly 50 years of his life, faithfully paying income tax, Social Security and other withholding taxes. Along the way, my dad lived through most of the depression, served the USA in WWII, and helped build a post war family business that employed about 100. Now my dad is retired and is among the 47% who pay no income tax. By Romney's definition, that makes him a free-loader. You can imagine why he's not thinking too charitably about Romney at the moment, can't you? Oh, and by the way, my dad is not unique in this nation. The GOP must-win state of Florida is full of people like my dad. Perhaps republicans should be more concerned about who they do and don't characterize as free-loaders, don't you think? .
