Question:

Why many MBTs use autoloaders instead of human loaders?

A human loader is lighter, faster to load, able to swap ammunition (something autoloaders can't do in current designs and requires the chambered round to be fired to switch ammo types)Despite this fact tanks like the LecLerc, K2, and Type 10 have automatic loaders instead of human loaders. So my question is what's the point of having an automatic loader for the tank if the human loaders are way better?

Answer:

why do some people drive an automatic transmission and some drive a manual transmission ?
It allows you to spread the same number of armor-qualified personnel among more tanks.
because there are advantages that you cannot see with the focus on but human loader can swap ammo whereas autoloader cannon has to fire the round in the chamber it would have a lot to do with the rigidity of militaries, and with being used to have it one way or another. for instance, you could argue for ever about benefits and downsides of three- and four- echelon organisation (Western vs. Warsaw pact)
Well, a tank that has an autoloaders usualy has a smaller profile than tanks with an extra crew member. autoloaders also don't suffer from fatigue. A human loader maybe be disrupted or even drop the round he is handling depending on the circumstances such as rough terrain. It also means you have more people to do other things. You can crew 4 AMX Leclercs with the same amount of people it'll take to crew 3 M1A1 Abrams.
