are their any reasons why people would make this their 1st choice say on a 3 floor apartment picking the 2nd floor?
If steps aren't a problem the 2nd floor of a three story apt building is the best. Safety is one reason, another is insulation. In the winter it doesn't take as much to heat a 2nd floor apt because there is heat being provided from above and below. In the summer the 1st floor is the easiest to cool and the 3rd floor the hardest. Some people also like them because they get some exercise with the steps.
hi i thing this is your personal opinion many people prefer 1st floor because this is convenient on all aspects security, unwanted disturbances, heat protection, safety. may be 2nd floor also have same benefits.
Maybe they want a view but they're kind of afraid of heights so the 3rd floor would be too high lol. I don't know good question.
Well a three-floor building usually won't have an elevator, and a lot of people don't like the idea of walking up three flights of stairs, especially for things like moving furniture in and out and bringing up groceries. Apartments on the highest floor of any building also tend to be more exposed to temperature extremes, that is, they're hotter in summer and colder in winter. The advantage is that there's no one walking around above you so you don't have to worry about a lot of noise. First floor apartments are a greater security risk, especially when they're on the ground floor. There can also be less privacy if you have windows that are at street level. A lot of times you'll see that only the windows on the first floor of a building have bars, while the higher floors don't because they're less likely to be useful up there. Ground floor apartments are also more vulnerable to flooding. On the other hand, there may be no stairs to get to your apartment, and also you could install hardwood floors because there would be no neighbors downstairs to complain about your stomping. Second floor apartments offer the best of both worlds. You're more secure because it's not as easy to get to your apartment from the street, and there's more privacy for that reason. You're also not as affected by temperature extremes. The only real downside is that you could potentially be sandwiched between two noisy neighbors, below and above.
