Question:

Why would wheel bearings go bad (Other than Defective parts) and how could you tell?

After a wheel alignment my wheel bearings went bad, immediately.

Answer:

did they change the bearings. I don't think that's part of a wheel alignment. To tell if your bearing are bad, take the wheel and see if it has play in it. (wobbling) .
Not greased. If they are bad you will know when you see them. If they are on your rig fell the hub and if it is hot they are bad.
I had a tire that wore each and each of the tread off on a million/4 of the tire . the different 270 ranges grow to be positive. It grow to be a cheap tire from western automobile two decades in the past. It grow to be the most weird element I truthfully have ever considered a tire do. I positioned a clean one on and by no potential had a topic.
As an advisor in a dealership I have seen wheel bearings go bad within days or weeks after larger aftermarket rims were installed,,,the larger rim adds extra pressure to the wheel bearing and axle assembly.
depending on how far out of alignment your vehicle was it can cause severe rotation problems for the bearings and when re-aligned the worn areas of the bearings are no longer in proper position and you feel and hear them making noise, vibrating and worst of all if you continue driving on them you can destroy the hub as well and have a much more expensive repair! Having your vehicle in alignment isn't just for the sake of your tires it involves all of the suspension of the vehicle.
