Question:

Will 10% HC1/kg hydrochloric acid turn uPVC pipe to deform?

When checking the leaks on the ceiling I'd found that the uPVC drainage pipe is warped. What could be the real reason for the deformed uPVC pipe? Someone told me it could due to the upper floor resident had been using hydrochloric acid for cleaning purpose. Is this possible?

Answer:

very unlikely as pvc is resistant to HCl. Much more likely they have put something too hot down the pipe.
