will a cold air intake make my exhaust louder?

i have a 2002 grand am gt and i just put an 80 series flowmaster with the resonator remover. will a cold air intake make this louder? if so, what brand? i need some input

Answer:

A cold air intake will make your exhaust a lot deeper and throaty at a certain amount of throttle
It won't make it louder in a sense like a bigger muffler will or nothing like that. It will improve performance and make it sound better. A good one is to order a cold air intake and get a kn air filter in it. That is one of the best air filters out there. For that car, it'll add probably around 7-10 horsepower with the intake as well. If you want louder exhaust, you gotta do more performance work to the motor itself or stick on a muffler which I would not really recommend. A car being loud isn't what makes it great. It is what is inside of it and how well it sounds and operates that turns head. Believe me, I live in an area where kids take out their import cars and they strap on a crappy exhaust fart can and it is loud as hell, but it sounds terrible. The intake will add performance and it will sound better. You will notice it and I doubt you will be dissappointed if you go ahead and purchase that. Best of luck!
