Will a doctor preform a pap smear when I try to go on the pill and say it's for birth control purposes?I am only 16, usually pap smears are done for people 25+.If and when I go to get a script for the pills, can I say I don't want a pap smear preformed?
it depends on what your doctor recommends. it's routine to do a pap and pelvic, but if you're young and a virgin it's optional. if you've had sex though, you really should have it done and your doc will highly suggest it. your doctor can't make you do anything, but he/she may be less likely to prescribe birth control if they haven't scoped things out. if you're a virgin i wouldn't sweat it though.
