Question:

Will a piece of copper pipe in the tank hurt my fish?

I‘m thinking of trying to get the angelfish to lay eggs on it.

Answer:

I wouldn't put copper in your tank. Just get a piece of slate, or a couple rocks, or Anubias. Those are all great flat surfaces for Angelfish to lay eggs on.
Wow, thanks! Just what I was searching for. I looked for the answer on other websites but I couldn't find them.
Most all metals are very very harmful to any type of aquatic animal. Definitely go with the piece of slate. it works perfect
copper will kill your fish, even as small an amount as a penny. When I was young, I had a fresh water 10 gallon tank with guppies, and it did very well, that is until my brother thought a penny would be pretty in it, I soon started loosing my fish left and right.
