If I add a cold Air Intake to a new Hyundia Accent - Will it hurt the warrenty?
Modern cars have cold air intakes they auto select temps from cold to warm as per engine requirements for best performance and longevity. Imagine the thermal shock of winter air in a warm cylinder.
Only if they can prove that your cold air intake was the cause of the problem. Should you have an issue with your transmission, then your cold air intake would have nothing to do with that so you would be fine. If your car ran lean and cracked a piston, then you would be int trouble because they could say that the cold air intake brought in more air than what the car was designed to take in and so the air fuel ratio got thrown off.etc.etc
No, you don't loose warranty. In Canada we sell cold air intake as manufacturer approved accessories. The only warranty that you loose is for the air filter and housing (which will obviously be removed upon installing new cold intake). Other than that, nothing else will be affected. You are loosing warranty only on the components removed from the vehicle.
