Question:

Will bad ESN expire on a Virgin Mobile phone?

I have a Virgin Mobile phone with me that has bad ESN and i was wondering if it will just expire after an amount of time and if it does how long would it take?

Answer:

Easy answer. If the phone has been reported lost, the ESN stays bad, until the original owner clears it. If the phone has been reported, the ESN stays bad until the original owner clears it. If the phone was under contract and the contract was broken, and ETF was not paid, the ESN stays bad until the original owner or the new owner pays the ETF and or final bill. I don't know very many second had owners stupid enough to pay the original owners final bill or ETF. But of which are often more than the phone is worth. But if the original owner pays it, no big deal. So as you note the THEME here, it's forever, unless the original owner who the phone was registered to, calls in or goes into a Virgin Mobile store WITH ID, to take care of whatever reason the phone's ESN is considered BAD.
