I am wanting to decorate a tablecloth for my mother, but want to use an easy care cloth. That means polyester. Will the paint fade/wear off on polyester? How about the fabric markers?
What you will get out of the additave is wear protection. In short it is a waste of money if you are trying to save gas.

Fabric paint is acrylic, which ought to be permanent on polyester (also a plastic, after all) as long as you follow the directions -- let it dry long enough, set it with an iron afterward if that is called for, etc.
Oil additives don't help, save your money
