Question:

Will my things mildew in storage shed?

I have totes that I have my yarn in, my yarn is very important to me as I got it when my grandmother passedThe unit I am putting my things in is not temperature controlled and I am wondering if yarn/fabrics will be safe in the shed with the changing temperatures?

Answer:

in your garage? any drill should work, aluminum is pretty soft
You can do it anywhere that has a drill or a drill pressuse a centre punch and punch the hole where you need itdrill press would be ideal, put it on low speed and occasionally add cutting oil when drillingif you need it precise i wouldn't use a handheld drill.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT put anything like clothing or papers or anything porous in a shed that is not climate controlledThey will DEFINITELY mildew or ROT I had this happen to several sweaters that were made for me by my grandmotherI put them in a big black garbage bag thinking they would be fine, but nopeI did end up buying (a few years too late for my sweaters) those vacuum sealed storage bags for clothesI was given a TON of expensive fancy little girl clothes by a relative when my daughter was bornShe had a good five years to wait before they fit her so I needed to keep them in good conditionAnd we only had a little tool shed at the time I will try to put the link in here somewhereBut DON'T put your precious yarn in there without some kind of sealed protection! And no, I don't work for this companyI just seriously couldn't do without them in my situationI'm pretty sure this is them.I typed in vacuum sealed bags for clothes and this is what came up:
