It protects the rider and the radiator from damage. It reduces the amount of spray created by the motorcycle, which affects other drivers' visibility. It is illegal to ride on the street without a front fender.
Sounds like a great idea! I don't know about costs or anything but I used to work in a factory that used capacitors( rv converters). I am going to mark this one interesting!
Average lightning puts out enough electricity to power a 60 Watts bulb for 6 hours. Very high voltage but for mere millionth of a second. This is enough to kill, but not enough to power much. This isn't an economical investment versus the amount of electricity saved, unless you can continuously (non stop, 24/7) produce lightning. You spend more money building this than actually saving from using this.
