Question:

Will your church preform a gay marriage ceremony?

if no, when do you think it will get with the times?

Answer:

Hmmm why would gays want to be a part of an organization that teaches against their sexual practices? Why dont gays just leave the religious alone. I know its usually said the other way around, but religion is a personal and private matter...always has been. Do you really want to live in a country that forces private organizations to conform to popular opinion? Thats socialism buddy, thats communism. Thats not what Im about. Legally, we should all have the same rights, and be equals...but dont tell me what my religion should be; what I should believe! Very hypocritical...
no way. and when do you think that gay people are going to realize it is a sin to be gay? God did not make you that way. It clearly states that it is wrong in the bible. And all of the churches that do preform gay marriages are very wrong.
As a denomination we have been debating this for some time without coming to any conclusion as yet. We are also debating gay ministers. I think that even if the national church started doing it it would take some time to get to my area because I live in the south.
there could be ministers (quite of the Unitarian and Metropolitan Church flavour) who will carry out a dedication ceremony. She and her fiancee can in spite of the fact that stress around the border to Ontario and have a real church or civil wedding ceremony in Canada.
The last church I attended was the Unitarian Universalist church. The Unitarians performed commitment ceremonies for LGBT couples for years, even before Canada made same-sex marriage legal. The local UU church helped the the local MCC church got it's start in my city. The person posting below me is incorrect. No church is being forced to officiate same-sex weddings. If I wanted to get married in a Catholic church, they could say no, because I am not Catholic, and I could not sue them. So the claim that making it legal would force churches to recognize it is false.
