I'm wanting to install a wood burning stove through the vaulted portion of a ceiling/roofI'm hoping the following description will be sufficient. The stove pipe will go from the stove to the chimney support box that will be attached to the raftersWhere the support box is there is NO attic spaceThe bottom of the roof rafters is the ceilingThese are 2 x 12 lumber, packed with fiberglass insulationThe main issue that I can think of is when I remove all the insulation where the support box is located, will I be left with an issue of condensation due to the fact that the conditioned inside air versus the outside temperature? Since there is no insulation between the support box and the outside chimney roof jack, I can visualize water collecting on the freezing cold metal of the support box and dripping onto the stoveSalt Lake City winters can be a little chilly, to say the least!!Does anyone have enough experience in this explain to me if I should find a different place in the house to install this stove? Thanks.
