Suicide is any deliberate act that one takes to affect their death. If the person running around with a lightening rod was merely being stupid, it would be an accidental death or death by misadventure. If, however, there is good reason to believe that the person intended to die through that act then it would be suicide.
No, it's like any other tobacco smoking. Ever see a smoke alarm go off in the restaurant that allows smoking or even in a hookah lounge? Nope smoke detectors don't always detect smoke but heat, certain compounds, and sometimes density of the smoke. Trust me look around they are there in the smoking sections of ever restaurant and hookah lounge. I have been smoking the hookah in my apartment, home, hookah lounge, and other places for over 10 years no alarm yet
