I have just brought a sofa on ebay and the measurements are 3ft by 3ft by 5 ft 8 in.I live in a terraced house and I don't know the measurements to the door but does anyone think that I would be able to fit it through the door ?I really like the sofa and really don't want to tell the person I can't have it.Many thanks !
Mine didn't fit even though the dimensions said it would but there is quite a bit of packaging and It would not get round the corner. We had to take it round the back and in the french doors at the back and through the kitchen. If you don't have french/patio doors, you may have to take out a window if you can't push it. Hope you live in a house and not one of these swanky city centre flats. (Americans call the apartments/penthouses, they are just, simple flats - would never dream of paying millions on s flat! Some people)
Just measure your door...
you have to try it.... the cushions will give some and you can put it at an angle.... but, without the door measurements....nobody can tell for sure....
There are several sizes of doors, so I couldn't tell you without seeing the size. Most are 30 but they can be as big as 36. Also, it will depend on the configuration of your house. Ours has a tiny entryway and we had to end up punching a hole in the wall to get the couch in. Try tipping it up as far as you can if you need to clear interior walls and carrying it in at an angle to minimize the width.
you should have no problem at all. Because it is only 5-8 long and your door is taller than that, probably over 6 feet. So you can stand the sofa up on one end and turn it as you move it through the opening. You should have no problem.Your door will not have to be 3 feet wide for normal shaped sofa. unless the arms on the sofa are also 3 feet tall, as tall as the back. they are usuall much shorter.
