Question:

would u go with a 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust system on a 3.0 v6? is there a difference?

My car is a infiniti with a 3.0 v6 non turbo stock engine with 210hp stock and i was wondering should I use 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust piping? I have no mods on the car cause they don‘t make any for my model only exhaust and round air filter. All I can do is a exhaust system.

Answer:

C7S is right abobut the CL with the manual transmission but from what I've seen and the Hondas I've serviced and repaired, it's the automatics that are the long lasting models. I've seen many automatic Hondas pushing 400,000 miles without even a single rebuild, but rarely have I've seen a manual Honda that has. I've seen many needing tranny work with 200-250,000 miles and the clutch was still the original clutch with no problems. The clutches seem to be almost bulletproof but not the actual trannies, especially on Civics and Accords. I know many have been raced but I'm talking about models that were just daily drivers that were well cared for too. Keep in mind that the four cylinder models tend to be better in terms of overall reliability.
Yes they are very reliable. Honda/Acura is known for having the most reliable manual transmissions in the world. And Replacing or fixing the transmission should run you $600 to $900 depending on the labor rates in your area. Sometimes, it is cheaper to just do that instead of buying a newer car.
call acura headquarters and see what they have to say. we have done several that have passed the year or mileage they are running about 2500 dollars to rebuild
2.5. im sure stock exhaust piping size is no smaller than 2.25 so putting the same size won't net you any gains since im sure youre putting the exhaust on for performance. i personally would leave it alone but if you must, 2.5 is good. 3+ only for forced induction (turbo).
