Question:

Yarn Question??!!?

Which type of yarn would make a good knitted blanket: Wool or Worsted weight?

Answer:

Well, there is no such thing as the temperature of a vacuum (the absence of matter)Only matter can have a temperatureThe temperature of objects IN space varies widely depending on its heat transfer opportunityThe temperature of some particular body in space, orbiting Earth or Moon, will depend primarily upon its optical properties and view factors to the Sun, and to a lesser extent upon its geometrySome portions of the space shuttle can reach 200 F if exposed to the sun for very longMost will be around 0 F, and some will reach -250 F if they do not receive sunlight.
Worsted weight refers to the thickness of the yarn, not the fiber, so why not use worsted weight superwash wool? If you choose the right fiber, it'll be soft, warm, and machine washable.
