From the point of view on the moon, the Earth is reflecting massive amounts of light from the Sun (and in my opinion, the Mooninites have a much prettier view of a shining night orb than what we have). Since you want to be a jerk about it, then let me state it clearly: not every planet has a satellite, therefore not every planet has a source of light at night (the moon isn't a source of light, anymore than a mirror is a source of light).
