What is the best way to get a VERY yucky white carpet clean???I have a carpet shampooer and it doesn't seem to do the job. Do you know of any good pre-treaters or tricks I should know?
Add a little bleach, and baking soda. Works well for me!
Use Woolite in machine as carpet cleaner once got motor oil out of white carpet.Had to do couple of times also pretreat it with the woolite
Have you tried OxyClean in the shampooer? You'd need to have hot water in the tank too. One friend would add a pinch of bleach in her carpet shampoo..........just a thought

When you rent a machine, the necessary cleaning products are usually included or can be purchased at the rental store. Step Two Vacuum the floor thoroughly. Step Three Spray heavily soiled areas with prespray or traffic-lane cleaner. For really dirty areas, increase the amount of prespray used instead of increasing the amount of carpet shampoo. You probably need to hire a professional like Stanley Steamers if it is very dirty. Carpet shampooers are great for keeping up with high traffic areas or spills, but usually can't handle the big stuff properly.
