Hi there im in grade 12 chemistry and we recently did a lab called the 12 test tube mysteryThe substances we used were.2M Potassium Chromate1.0M Aluminum Chloride1.0M Sodium Carbonate6.0M Hydrochloric Acid.1M Silver Nitrate6.0M Ammoinium Hydroxide.1M Lead(ll) Nitrate.1M Iron (lll) Nitrate1.0M Sodium Acetate.1MCopper(ll) Sulfate.1Mnickel(ll) ChlorideIve answered the entire lab except quot;Did any of the solutions efferevesce when mixed together? What was the identity of the gas that caused bubbling? How could you test the gas to confirm its identity?quot;I have the ones that bubbledSodium Carbonate + Hydrochloric AcidSodium Carbonate + Copper(ll) SulfateThere were more but we did not record themSo what would have caused the bubbling and how could we test it?Help is greatly appreciated!

Both of these will have given off carbon dioxidePass the gas through 'Lime Water' (saturated calcium hydroxide solution) which will turn 'milky' in the presence of CO2.
