Yes it`s called vapor barrier! The foil thing was someone`s folly! - NO- you don`t use black plastic or felt paper, what are these people thinking of! Vapor barrier is specifically made for VAPOR BARRIER! It should be 6 mil and should have a stamp to insure it conforms to builing codes!
