Question:

Is just the muffler enough, or should I get a new exhaust system?

I have a ‘91 2.3L Mustang LX and I want to get a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler and swap it out with my stock muffler. My question is, if I just swap out the mufflers and keep the rest of my exhaust system, will there be any big performance issues? Would getting a new exhaust system offer any big advantages or is just the muffler fine? Btw, I already checked to make sure that this muffler fits my car and it does. Thanks

Answer:

First off, you have a 2.3 4cyl rear-drive car thats N/A. Swap to a 5.0, then go buck wild on the exhaust. And get Magnaflow
Look man if u r looking for nice sound coming out of ur car then the muffler will do it cause it will just make the car roaring and that's it. But performance u gotta buy the full exhaust system cause by then the full exhaust pipe will b wider which will let more air coming through ur exhaust and ur engine and will burn more fuel and at the end u will gain abt 10 to 20 MAX HP Hope u got the full circle :)
