Answer:

If you are eating something that is too fatty for your taste, try to eat it with some bread, or other grain. This will absorb some of the grease, and will be a texture you're more familiar with. I find that when it comes to food, people accept these excuses fairly readily: 1) health reasons 2) religious reasons. If you would rather not eat dark meat, for example, then you could claim that you are abstaining from it for religious reasons, or that your doctor has advised you not to eat it. Medical is probably the best excuse, since most people don't want to pry in that area (i.e. ask you what your health problem is). If you feel uncomfortable with white lies, then your best strategy is avoidance. Fill your plate with other things that you do like, leaving no room for the item(s) you don't. If someone notices that you haven't taken any goat, and insists you must try some, I think that your hosts would not be offended by a simple, No thank you, I'm going to have more of XXXXX instead, which is very delicious by the way! Note that this will probably get you out of getting a full portion of the item, but you may end up having to take a taste. Try to serve yourself, too, if at all possible.
ask for condiments.........lots lots of condiments!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it usually takes at least a little of the nasty away. good luck!
