Question:

Please! How can I turn my BMW car alarm off?

First,I am going to take this vehicle to the shop soon, but as it stands, I have to jump the vehicle before driving anywhere so the alarm is activated.Well I have the remote that is supposed to turn it off but it just won‘t. I have to play with it for a half hour at least to get lucky enough to turn it off. I have removed the audible alarm but the hazards still flash constantly, and I have no idea what to do.Thanks!

Answer:

This is due to the great T2+T3 alarm systems that the older BMW's use to have. Seriously, they are complete crap and anything and i mean ANYTHING interrupts the fob signal to the car causing the problem that you have now. I once had to get my bmw towed away from the airport just so my fob would work again, yes, apparently the radio waves also have an effect on these alarms too. I would suggest you start by changing the battery in the fob to make sure it is sending a strong signal to the car. If that doesn't work, check the Receiver in the car, depending on what bmw you drive, will depend on its location. The old 3 series had them in the centre mirror or near the sun visors. .
Steal your car. That usually turns the alarm off. if you are the car owner, rip the tweeter out and let it blink as much as it wants. Seriously. I had a 1989 Nissan 240SX that i found out how to trigger its alarm' it blinked the hazards 25 times and wouldnt let the car start. If you disconnected the battery before you turned the key and then put the battery back on with the key IN the ignition but not TURNING it, it would do this.
