Question:

Scion TC advice?

I‘m interested in buying my daughter a Scion Tc. I haven‘t really heard much about this car before. I‘m leaning towards the purchase b/c it has a Toyota engine,it‘s stylish, and priced reasonably low. Does anyone have any information about this car, that would help me with this purchase?thank you

Answer:

I purchased one almost two years ago and the plan was I would drive it for four years make the payments then give the car to my daughter. I was attracted to the cars safety features and all the things that came standard (moon roof, power windows and a nice radio). All this at a great price. I have owned several Toyota Lexus cars and have always been very satisfied with there quality. Scion is made by Toyota and you can expect the same kind of quality out of the tC. My dauter will turn 16 in two years and I think I might have a hard time giving up this car I have grown to realy like it.
good car.my parents took me car shopping this summer for a college gift. we looked at a bunch of cars. the toyota corolla s, the scion tc, the honda civic, and the honda fit. only suggestion- get a civic. the scion has more power and a bigger engine, but the honda offers a 1.8L engine that is still pretty peppy, not the best from a stop but still has plenty due to the i-vtec engine, and much more. scion hasn't changed the tc's looks in 5 years and honda updates designs almost every year. honda is also number 1 in resale value. a scion is a cool fast car, but if you get the civic its only about 3k more and you get so much more. the tc offers an auxilary jack for i-pods etc. but the honda offers a USB jack (only cars i know of) and they also have the aux. jack as well. the digital gauge display is also very cool and unique and offers a safer driving experience (don't have to look down for speed and its displayed in big digital numbers so you dont have to read the needle). not to mention if you get the civic ex it has a much better stereo system, disc brakes all around, chrome exhaust tip, amazing safety ratings, better quality interior materials, and a 5 speed automatic transmission compared to the scion's 4. not to mention the civic has a huge trunk for its small size. bottom line is that if you want value and get more bang for your buck, get the honda civic.
