They cost similar, with the i5 costing 30 bucks more, but the difference doesn't matter much to me since i'm buy an entire system with motherboard and ram anyway.
Intel is the best processor bar none I have I7 2600k and it runs games at max. I have tried A.M.D. for a lot of builds but trust me go with the Intel. Mine runs BF3 , NFS, WoW. all I throw at it.
