Question:

How should I check transmission oil on my pt cruser?

Transmission oil

Answer:

I'm from the old school and know little about these new cars but I will take a stab at this. to check the level of your transmission fluid, and I assume you have an automatic tranny, you look for a tube that goes to where the tranny is and at the top will be a cap . there may be a hook on it. It may be yellow. it is different from the engine dipstick or at least it better be. the fluid from a tranny dipstick should be red. the dipstick will say check level when hot I'm sorry but I answered too quckly you need to find a level surface and check the level after the engine is warmed up. and the engine has to be running.
While vehicle is started and warm. Pull out red dipstick located toward windshield, wipe with tissue or paper towel. Stick dipstick back in and pull back out, look at dipstick to see if fluid is on stick up to point that reads max. If below that point-add transmission fluid. Do not over fill!
Make sure your on level grounds. There's two levels, hot full and cold full. Check it before the car is started and note the level. Drive it for 10-20min then stop to check again. There's two full levels because the transmission oil expands as it heats up when you drive
