Question:

How reliable are the cvt transmissions on a audi?

Just bought a used 2011 audi with a cvt transmission. Please help me with answers

Answer:

the transmission has become much more reliable over the last several years as the technology has improved a number of car companies has enjoyed some great success with this transmission including toyota and nissan as well as subaru and a few others. It takes a little getting used to for people used to the regular automatic transmission there is usually a manual mode that can be used if desired. The engine actually races a lot more which some people find disconcerting at first but once you get used to how it works it becomes more and more normal. There are now some applications for this transmissions in powerful motors about the only draw back is if something goes wrong it cannot be fixed the unit must be replaced and that can be expensive depending on what car its in.
Junk! Hope you bought an extended warranty if you're not leasing.
