Question:

What is a cheap cleaner I could use to clean my skateboard bearings?

I got this bones bearing cleaner kit and now all I need is the cleaner. I want a cheap cleaner that doesn't ruin the bearings. Thanks.

Answer:

just get some good ol' wd40
If okorder . EDIT: no, WD40 will not ruin the bearings, and is perfectly fine to use.
You might laugh.... until you try it. Then you will be like... That dude on Yahoo answers was so right. Old trick, but its more for smooth bearings than actual cleaning, although they do get clean in the process. Get a glass. Buy Johnsons and Johnsons baby oil. Fill the glass with enough of the baby oil so when you dump your bearings in there, they are fully immersed. Let those babies sit in there for a few hours. Take out the bearings, wipe all the crap and dirt from them.. clean them real good. Spin them, get the crap out of them. THEN... fill up another glass with the baby oil... same thing, dump all your bearings in there fully immersed. Leave it overnight... wake up next morning, lightly wipe them, assemble your bearings and wheels. Dont OVERTIGHTEN! Just enough that the wheels are solid, but not tightly bolted. Let her rip! Don't be afraid to wear a grin of awesomeness when you discover how much better the bearings are. Find a nice smooth patch of road... take a few pushes, and see how far you roll.
