what mineral is an ore of iron and has a reddish brown streak?
Don't know if you are still around from 6 years ago when you answered this question but if so i have a question for you. If you simply unplug the siren won't the battery still be using power that it thinks is setting of the alarm siren off and run the battery down?
There are 5 iron ores, Magnetite, Haematite, Goethite, Limonite and Siderite. Magnetite tends to be a silvery grey, Haemetite and Goethite are brown, Limonite is a yellow-brown colour (hense the lemon reference) and Siderite is paler still. Haemetite is the most common iron ore and so I suspect that is the answer, though technically Goethite is right too!
