Question:

What size of combi boiler?

We have a conventional system at the moment and it is struggling to power all the radiators in our home.We are looking to change this to a Combi or Condensing boiler to power 19 radiators 2 Power Showers. What size of boiler should we be looking for and how much roughly should we pay for it (excluding installation)Thanks

Answer:

The smallest combi gas boiler that you can get in UK is 24k. Basically any boiler will comp with your hot water demand, but you will need to think about your hot water needs. Your combi boiler will heat up the incoming water from 15C to 50-65C instantly, with the central heating there is plenty time for the water in the system to heat up. I am an experienced gas servicing engineer. If you need some idea about the cost of the installation you can visit my webpage:
That sounds like a tall order for a condensing boiler. I would think you'd need a pretty flipping big one! I run 9 rads, and two bathrooms off my 42kw condenser, so I'd guess you'd need one about twice the size. You are going to need a fairly high volume water supply too. I'd get the flow rate of my mains supply checked first, since there's no point having a high output boiler if you can't supply it with enough water to use it fully. How about a commercial grade boiler? www.plumbingsupplyservices .uk/...
