Question:

Where can I find some vermiculite?

What type of stores (home depot? Idk) and how much would it be? It would preferably be the more coarse kind. Thanks

Answer:

I won't even buy dry goods from Petco. When I worked for them, their primary pet distributor was Sunpet. Mites were a perpetual issue, in addition to an array of illnesses I had never seen before. None of their pets are captive bred by breeders. Reptile expos (as someone else mentioned) are your best bet.

i love geckos and reptiles, and i suggest you put some fresh grass under a cartbox, cause today, i discover that there was a gecko egg on my skink trap, wat a coincidence.haha -domtam-
Vermiculite can sometimes be hard to find outside of gardening season. Try the larger garden centers or the ones attached to the big box stores. It may not be on the shelf but try asking if they can bring a bag out of the back for you. I have used coconut coir or mulch successfully as well as an incubation medium. You should be able to get a brick of that at most pet stores.
